29 April 2007 - These small plants are put outside the greenhouse on a wagon to 'harden off" -- that is to say, they are getting used to being out in the real world, after starting from seed in the nice snug, warm (heated) greenhouse since March. Were we to immediately put them in the cold April ground, the shock of the lower temperature and wind, and not so steady supply of water could slow their growth or kill the plant. Be gentle with little plants. Treat them tenderly.
