 May 2006 - Why is Farmer Ben putting rows of black plastic down? Well, plants, like tomatoes, green peppers, squash, cucumbers, etc, will be planted by making a hole in the plastic. The plastic keeps the heat and water in, and inhibits weeds from growing near and robbing the water and nutrients from the growing plants. |
