July 2006 - This is a young blue hubbard squash. Just like the gourds, zuchinni squash and pumpkins, it grows on a vine. See the yellow items to the right? Those are blossoms. There are male and female blossoms on each plant. After fertillization (pollenation) the female blossom turns into a squash, gourd or pumkin.
